The 1st Preparatory Meeting - for the General Assembly’s overall review of the implementation of the outcomes of the World summit on the Information Society (WSIS) will be held on 1 July 2015, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. - United Nations Headquarters, Conference Room 2.

The first preparatory meeting of the WSIS review process will take place on Wednesday, 1 July, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Conference Room 2  at the United Nations Secretariat, New York. This meeting aims to provide a venue for Member States to share their expectations and preliminary inputs on the elements to be addressed by the review. Statements delivered at the 1 July meeting and written submissions will serve as the basis for the non-paper version of the WSIS review outcome document that will be further developed, leading up to the High-Level Meeting on 15-16 December 2015. Representatives of UNCTAD, ITU and UNESCO will be invited to serve as resource persons on issues to be addressed by the review, based on the previous WSIS reviews carried out by their agencies.
