The World Trade Congress on Gender, the first international research conference on trade and gender, will take place this year at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva.
Under the theme ‘Gender Equality for Sustainable Trade and Recovery’, the congress will invite experts from around the world to shed light on gender provisions in regional trade agreements, women entrepreneurs, gender-responsive policymaking, and the impact of COVID-19.
Two plenary sessions will centre on gender-based violence, women’s economic empowerment and the role of trade, and the gender-unequal impact of global crises.
A research session on December 7 will examine the overall influences of digitalisation on gender gaps in trade.
