Outer Space Security Conference 2022

Event description

Event dates: 2–3 November 2022, 10:00–18:00 CET

The UN Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) is hosting its flagship two-day Outer Space Security Conference 2022, inviting the Geneva-based diplomatic community, as well as visiting experts from military, industry, and academic backgrounds, to the Palais des Nations for a discussion on outer space security issues.

As space becomes economically and strategically important, the potential of it turning into a new area for conflicts heightens. The international community has sought to address these issues through arms control, disarmament, and governance proposals.

This conference aims to bring together experts from various fields to deliberate several policy options and enhance space security in the form of panel discussions.
